What Telegram hides, and where

Inside the channel nothing folds: a subscriber who opens it reads the whole post, however long. The cut happens before that, in the chat list and the notification, which show the channel's name and the opening words of the post and nothing else. The first line decides whether the channel gets opened at all; the rest is read by the people who already did.

Three posts Telegram only half shows

  1. A post that opens with a greeting"Hi everyone! Hope your week is going well." then the news.The notification shows the greeting. The news the subscriber would have opened the channel for is below what the lock screen shows.
  2. An album with its captionFour photos and a paragraph about them.The caption rides under the album as one message, so the photos carry the first impression and the words are read after the grid.
  3. A PDF with a noteA report attached as a file, with a two-line caption.It arrives as a file tile, not a picture. Nothing of the document shows until someone taps it, so the caption has to say why it is worth the tap.
