The API answers 402 with code free_daily_cap, the limit and the time it resets, and the composer says the same thing. Nothing is silently dropped. The count is per UTC day and covers every post that goes out that day, whether you wrote it, your agent sent it, or you approved a proposal our agents made.

Can my own AI agent use the free plan?
