Video
TikTok documents three shapes and a minimum for each. Vertical is the only one it calls recommended.
Drawn to scale against each other
- Video, vertical1080x1920
- TikTok's floor is 540 x 960 and its ceiling through the publishing API is 1080p, which makes 1080 x 1920 the top of the usable range rather than a preference.

- length: developers.tiktok.com
- Video, square1080x1080
- Accepted, but it is shown inside the same full-screen vertical player, so the top and bottom fill with blur or black.
- 1:1640x640 minads.tiktok.com
- Video, landscape1920x1080
- The weakest choice on TikTok - it occupies about a fifth of the screen it is played on.

Profile photo
TikTok publishes this figure for advertiser profiles only.

- Profile photo98x98
- This is the size TikTok names for the profile image on an ad, under 50KB. Upload a larger square for an organic profile - TikTok does not document one, and 98 px is a display size, not an upload target.

Questions
- What size is a TikTok video?
- 1080 x 1920 px, 9:16. TikTok's documented minimum is 540 x 960 and its publishing API caps resolution at 1080p, so 1080 x 1920 is the top of the range rather than a nice-to-have.
- Does TikTok accept square or landscape video?
- Yes - 1:1 from 640 x 640 and 16:9 from 960 x 540. Both still play inside the full-screen vertical player, so the frame you actually own shrinks.
- How long can a TikTok be?
- Up to 10 minutes through the route we and every other scheduling tool publish through: TikTok's Content Posting API caps a developer-sent video at 10 minutes and 4GB.
- What is the TikTok safe zone?
- TikTok does not publish pixel margins for it - it publishes downloadable safe-zone templates instead, and says the safe area depends on the shape of the video, the caption length and which formats are in play. Use TikTok's template rather than any number a guide invents.

Pixels are the half of the rules the platforms publish and our engine does not enforce. The other half - file formats, size caps, how many images fit in one post, what our API path will accept - is generated from the engine's own table at TikTok specs. Neither page restates what the other one owns.
